Summary of Key Points
We process personal information depending on how you interact with Tripals, the choices you make, and the features you use.
We do not process sensitive personal information, and we do not collect information from third parties.
We process information to provide, improve, and administer the Services, communicate with you, support security and fraud prevention, and comply with law.
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights over your personal information. The easiest way to exercise those rights is to contact us.
1. What Information Do We Collect?
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for the Services, express an interest in Tripals, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us.
The personal information we collect may include names, phone numbers, email addresses, usernames, and passwords. We do not process sensitive personal information.
If you use the Tripals application, we may collect mobile device data such as device ID, model, manufacturer, operating system, version information, browser type and version, hardware model, internet service provider or mobile carrier, IP address, and information about the app features you access.
We may request permission to send push notifications about your account or certain app features. You can opt out of push notifications in your device settings.
We also automatically collect certain device and usage information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services, including IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, usage timestamps, pages or files viewed, searches, and other technical information.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, support security and fraud prevention, comply with law, and, where needed, for other purposes with your consent.
This includes facilitating account creation and authentication, managing user accounts, delivering requested services, enabling user-to-user communications, and protecting an individual's vital interests where necessary.
3. What Legal Bases Do We Rely On?
If you are located in the EU or UK, we may rely on consent, performance of a contract, legal obligations, and vital interests to process your personal information.
If you are located in Canada, we may process your information where you have given express or implied consent, or where applicable law permits processing without consent in limited circumstances such as fraud prevention, investigations, legal compliance, business transactions, or clearly identified public information.
4. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?
We may share personal information with vendors, consultants, and other third-party service providers who perform services for us or on our behalf and need access to that information to do their work.
The categories of third parties we may share personal information with include data analytics services.
We may also share or transfer information in connection with a merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of our business. If you interact with public areas of the Services, other users may view your profile, activity, and content you make available.
5. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
No purpose in this notice requires us to keep your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us. When we no longer have a legitimate business need to process your information, we will delete or anonymize it, or securely store it until deletion is possible.
6. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, or the equivalent age specified by law in your jurisdiction. We also do not knowingly sell such personal information.
If we learn that personal information from a user under 18 has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to delete the data. If you become aware of such data, contact us at contact@tripals.co.
7. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
Depending on your location, including in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, obtain a copy, request correction or deletion, restrict processing, request portability, object to processing, and avoid certain solely automated decisions.
You may withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent to process your personal information. You can also unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.
You can review, change, or terminate your account by logging into your account settings. After an account termination request, we may retain some information where needed to prevent fraud, troubleshoot issues, assist investigations, enforce legal terms, or comply with legal requirements.
8. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track feature. Because there is currently no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or similar mechanisms.
9. United States Privacy Rights
Certain US residents may have additional rights, including the right to know whether we process personal data, access personal data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, obtain a copy of personal data, avoid discrimination for exercising rights, and opt out of certain processing such as targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or profiling where applicable.
We have not sold or shared personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve months. We may disclose personal information to service providers under written contracts.
To exercise rights, contact us at contact@tripals.co or submit a data subject access request. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request, and authorized agents may need to provide proof of authorization.
California residents may also request information under California's Shine The Light law about categories of personal information disclosed for direct marketing purposes, if any.
10. Do We Make Updates to This Notice?
Yes. We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. The updated version will be indicated by an updated revised date. If we make material changes, we may notify you by prominently posting a notice or sending a direct notification.
